Your mind's strengths allow you to think ahead of the game — to imagine or anticipate what should come next in just about any situation. Because you're equally skilled in the numerical and verbal universes of the brain, you can draw from multiple sources of information to come up with great ideas. The timelessness of your vision and the balance between your various skills are what make you a Visionary Philosopher.
In addition to your strengths in math and linguistics, you have a knack for matching and anticipating patterns. These skills and your uncanny ability to detect the underlying blueprint of most of life's situations add to your Visionary Philosopher mind.
Two philosophers who share the same combination of skills you possess are Plato and Benedict Spinoza. Spinoza had insight into how things worked in the world. He could envision a future based on the patterns he saw in life, and used mathematical logic as a structure within which to present his philosophical arguments. With that base he was able to use logic to formulate his theories. Borrowing from his linguistic strengths he wrote eloquent texts and, therefore, was able to bring his philosophical ideas and structure to the rest of the world. His story exemplifies the talents that are present in the Visionary Philosopher intellectual type.
Whatever you decide to do in life, you've got a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a wide variety of ways. You can expand your mind to understand a situation. Your strong balance of math and verbal skills will help you explain things to others. For example, if you were on an archaeological dig and discovered an object, you could probably use your deductive powers to figure out not only what the object was but also how it was used. Given your ability to put things together, you are more than capable of inventing a life plan that is in synch with your perspective on how things were, how they are, and how they might be one day.

*Blows giant cloud of dust off of livejournal* So I've gotten back into the fanfiction groove again and wrote all weekend. It's fun to write again, even though my fic writing is pretty clunky and out of practice. I wrote like twenty pages over the weekend but only three so far are online-publishable by my standards, and I actually posted on ff.net for the first time in ages. Link here for the curious: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3561669/1/It's a Gilmore Girls Rory/Jess futurefic, total fluff, rated PG-13. It's funny when I first watched the series on DVD, I didn't think they were OMG OTP!!11!!! at all, but what I love is the possibilities left open and unexplored that makes them the most interesting to think about from a fanfiction perspective. I'm listening the director's commentary for Pride and Prejudice, the Keira Knightley version, and I just have to say heeee that two ships I've always thought existed to some extent in the book, Mary/Collins and Anne/Colonel Fitzwilliam are the ones the director thinks exists too. Which reminds me that I must re-read this old fanfic: Anne DeBourgh's Diary, a Bridget Jones parody which is one of my favorite Austen fanfics ever. Current Mood: amused

OMG, I just read on TWOP that my favorite TV couple ( spoiler ) are going to get back together at least for a few episodes this season, so my shippy heart is very happy and I think I'm going to have to start watching the show again. Couples I ship in fandom tend to A. Never happen or B. Happen and end tragically C. Happen and then just end for no good reason at all except bad writing (IMO). I'm not sure what that says about my view of romance. Hmm. On another note, I lost my paid account today, but since I hardly ever update anymore I guess it's not really worth it to renew. Finally, whee! I met sarea_okelani, jade_okelani, and heinous_bitca last weekend, who are all lovely ladies, though Sarea and Jade's mindmelding is a bit eerie. No wonder their writings together are so seamless. Tags: meeting lj people, shipping Current Mood: cheerful

*Blows dust off LJ* I had a weird dream the other night about Draco and Ginny from Jewel of the Harem by realanise, you know, the one where ( JotH spoilers ) Since Anise hasn't updated in a while, I guess my subconscious decided to do it in my dreams. Anyway, my dream Draco figured out Ginny's true identity pretty quickly and D&G carried on a mad secret affair right under Lucius nose, while Ginny kept trying to avoid the elder Malfoy to canoodle with Draco, who was just head-over-heels taken with her. And eventually when Lucius figure out that it wasn't really Pansy that Draco was romancing, D&G elope. And then I woke up. In other news, woohoo for tomorrow's US Open men's final of Roger Federer and Andre Agassi. I thought this year's Open would be a dud after Andy Roddick lost in the first round *sob*, but the final looks like it'll be a great matchup. Although Federer isn't my favorite player, I adore his game, which is just mindblowingly dominating. I've never been a fan of Agassi (although I was a big fan of the missus, Steffi Graf), always prefered Sampras's style personally, but even my non-fan heart can't help but be warmed by his joy at reaching the Open finals at age 35. I admit it, I got another online journal for a new fandom that shall remain nameless, so this one, paid account and all, has been a teensy bit neglected. I still try to catch up on friends list every couple of days here, even though I suck at commenting anymore. Also I'm still reading realanise's various writings, even though I'm too lazy to log in (or can't remember my logins) at schnoogle and dracoandginny.com. I'll definitely be logging in to check everyone reaction to HBP next weekend though. Even though I'm not very fangirly over HP anymore, I'm still going to a midnight release party with a friend at the campus bookstore. Wonder if there's any chance I'll run into maramaitai there. Anyway, I'm updating now because sarea_okelani has apparently tagged me in some sort of meme, although being out of the loop for so long, I've never done one of these before, so wheee! ( Ten Fictional Characters I Would Love Like a Two Dollar Whore, in No Particular Order )So do I have to tag someone now? Um, okay. apple_eyes, thena, and subdereality, if by chance any of you still read my woefully neglected journal. :P In other news I've absolutely become hooked on the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series in the last couple of days, having devoured one book after another and actually purchasing the latest one in hardback even though in principle I am against purchasing hardback copies of books due to the fact that I am cheap. And I watched the movie this afternoon and loved it as well and will probably get it on DVD when it comes out. Not as funny as The Princess Diaries, but more thoughtful and realistic, in a way. I live in a very charming Victorian style apartment. But you know what is not so charming about Victorian style? The bathrooms. Last week, after a long period of looking quite distended and scary, the ceiling above our bathtub exploded because a building leak, and there were ceiling tiles everywhere. And the leak continued to rain down whenever someone would take a shower upstairs, causing the floor to be wet and we had to move our bathmats away because they were getting soaked. So I'm just innocently going to wash my face and have a slip and fall accident because of the water. Logically, I grab onto the first fixture I see, which is the sink. Except, naturally, I failed to notice that the sink was not actually attached to the wall and only held up on a rack on two screws, and the sink fell off the drainpipe onto my shoulder, and then I couldn't lift it up onto the drainpipe again, being that A) my shoulder hurt, and B) sinks are very heavy. My roommate came home about five hours later and we got it to set back on the pipe, except there was no way to reset it and not have half the contents leak out the back end of the pipe, and we had to brush our teeth using the kitchen sink. :P The maintenance guy came and fixed it eventually, but still, an exciting adventure. Also, being the total klutz that I am, yesterday I managed to injure myself while playing pool. [/lame]
Also, a happy 21st birthday to my kid brother, even though he will never read this, and doesn't believe in celebrating birthdays. :P Geezus I must be old, my baby brother can drink! Eeep.

On Tuesday I have a final proposal due for my pharmacology class, and I seem to only have just started doing my background research. At least I've typed a few very badly written paragraphs so far, which is better than nothing? My goal is to have one whole page typed before I crawl into bed tonight. :P So here I am writing in my LJ for a change whilst I procrastinate. Anywho, weekend so far: Went to the Rob Thomas concert at Avalon on Friday and he was totally awesome. I adore his new CD and he brings so much energy to the songs live, even the ones that aren't my favorites. Also I learned that wearing heels to a 3 hour standing room only concert, not a good idea. :P This afternoon I saw Hitchhiker's Guide and eh, I have no deep or spoilery thoughts about it except that the robot is super cute.

Huh, so did I say that I was going to update more this year? Yeah, those new year's resolution things never work out. I kind of forgot about the existence of this journal altogether for a bit there. Guess that means I shouldn't renew paid user the next time that comes up? The deal with me, is, as always, that when I cease to be obsessed with one of my hobbies or interests, it tends to sit on the backburner for a long time until I remember it exists again. I have a bunch of "favorite places" book marked, but at any given time I'm only using about five of them that are constantly getting refreshed because I am seriously obsessive-compulsive. Doesn't mean that I don't still care about [insert subject here], my brain is just otherwise occupied because it only likes to think about one thing (with great intensity) at a time. Over the weekend I suddenly remembered this [non-HP] fic I've been reading since I was in college and forgot about for the last six months and when I checked the site again there were ten new chapters and I squee'd and read them all. Yeah I'm a total dork. I keep dreaming that one of these days my obsessive-compulsiveness will actually be channeled constructively because I literally learn every bit of information possible about subjects that catch my obsessive-compuslive fancy and can be super-knowledgeable about them in a short amount of time. Now, what doesn't that ever work when school or work is involved? Sigh. Anyway, I don't think I've thanked sarea_okelani for the lovely D/G package she sent me for judging the D/G fic feast. *Blows kisses* And also a big SQUEEE! for siriologist final chapter of A Sirius Change, which I love, love, loved, and hopefully will one day remember to review. And hey, nehp types, is anyone interested going to see Phantom of the Opera at the Opera House when it comes to town? Current Mood: scatterbrained Current Music: 3 Doors Down - Let Me Go

Merry Christmas everyone! I'll be AFK for the next two weeks because I'm going on vacation with my family to Europe. Not that anyone will notice considering my number of LJ comments can be approximated by zero in the last couple of months. *g* Before sarea_okelani smacks me down for committing to judge the D/G fic feast contest, um, I'll be back a week before the winners have to be announced and my school doesn't start up until February, so that's plenty of time, right? *blinks innocently* Current Mood: cheerful
